Changing the Face of the Trades
One Girl at a Time
Join us on a mission to empower the next generation of young women through hands-on electrical training and real industry exposure.
What Is Girls Rewire the Industry?
At BAM Electrical, we believe that inspiration starts with exposure.
Girls Rewire the Industry is a one-day immersive event where girls in middle and high school get to explore the world of electrical contracting, construction, and engineering through hands-on activities and real-world mentorship.
This isn’t just a field trip. It’s a spark.
Led by women and professionals in the trades, this event opens doors to new possibilities — showing girls they can wire a room, run a job, and build the future.

Why it Matters
“This program is everything to me. If I can show just one girl that she’s capable of building her future with her own hands — then I’ve done my job.”
— Melissa Blair, Founder of BAM Electrical Contracting
Melissa didn’t just create this event — she lived the journey.
After 22 years in the electrical trade, working her way up from apprentice to business owner, she knows what it’s like to feel unseen in a male-dominated industry.
This is her way of giving girls what she never had:
✅ Representation
✅ Encouragement
✅ A head start
Event Details

A one-day, hands-on experience that introduces 6th–12th grade girls to real electrical work—from pipe bending and wiring to estimating and communications. Hosted by BAM Electrical Contracting in partnership with the Girl Scouts of Central & Southern New Jersey, this free event empowers young women to explore high-paying, high-demand careers in the trades.
Women make up less than 4% of the construction workforce. Together, we can change that.
Your support helps:
-
Close the skilled labor gap
-
Promote diversity in the trades
-
Expose girls to career paths they never knew were possible
-
Fund materials, meals, tools, and mentorship for every participant
The Experience
Throughout the day, girls will roll up their sleeves and step into the shoes of real industry professionals. They’ll learn how a building is powered from the inside out, install working electrical components with their own hands, and gain a behind-the-scenes understanding of how the trades keep our world running. But the magic of the day goes far beyond the technical skills — it’s in the moments when a girl holds a tool for the first time, realizes she’s capable, or hears a story from a woman who once stood exactly where she is now. By the end of the event, each participant walks away not only with new knowledge, but with a sense of confidence and belonging that can change the trajectory of her future.
Get Involved
We’re calling all tradeswomen, engineers, electricians, and community leaders: Come be a part of the spark. Speak. Lead a session. Lend a hand.
Every girl deserves someone to believe in her.
There are so many meaningful ways to support this movement. As a sponsor, you’ll help us provide everything from safety gear and lunch to workshop kits and hands-on materials — ensuring every girl has what she needs to fully participate and feel empowered. Your support doesn’t just make the day possible; it makes it powerful. Sponsors also gain brand visibility throughout the event and in media coverage, becoming part of a legacy of change. If you’re someone in the trades or a passionate advocate for youth empowerment, we invite you to volunteer or partner with us. Whether you lead a demo, speak to the girls, or lend a hand during activities, your presence shows these young women what’s possible — and sometimes, that’s all it takes to spark a dream.
